tucson holidays

Somehow it's hard to feel like it's actually Thanksgiving when Rusty and I are driving around Tucson, it's 77 degrees, and we have the top down on the 'stang.

Actually, scratch that. This is how holidays should be done. Screw being cold. I want to do every holiday like this. Snow is for chumps.

Hmm, now I know it's Coziahr family holiday. My grandmother made a reference to wanting to die.

In reference to taking her heart/ulcer/blood pills before dinner:

"Oh, it won't do anything bad if I don't take those pills. I wish it would."

Yeay, family!

nerd

Yes, I made it back from Japan just fine. It was amazing. Pics are coming soon, I promise. As soon as I get the shots from my fellow travellers, I'll assemble a fully commented photo album. But they're being slow in delivering, so I may have to whoop their asses to get the shots.

I just have to say, I may be the biggest nerd ever. I'm sitting here watching the live footage of the Xbox 360 launch on G4 tv. I played some of the launch titles in Japan, before it was released, and I wasn't really into them that much (their launch titles aren't their A game for sure. Give it a few months.) , but I want it anyway! All the online gaming options, the King Kong game, the ability to compare scores from single player games.... networked Joust for crying out loud. It just looks so cool. And man, a new console. I've owned nearly every console ever released, and it just screams to be acquired.

These poor nerds are sitting in the rain at Best Buys all around the country. I feel like such a sellout sitting and watching them from home instead of participating. I should probably be out there with my bretheren. I'm getting old.

Time to go watch my downloaded copy of Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children and nerd out some more.

I'm outta here

I'm heading out tomorrow morning for 10 days in Japan. I'm supposed to be asleep by now but I'm excited, and I have insomnia. As usual. I'll just be exhausted for the 10 hour flight, which lands 28 hours after I take off. Go chew on that one for a while. But hey, coming back I get to land 8 hours before I take off.

I've got the camera all packed, and I'll return with lots of pictures of me stomping around like Whitezilla. I'm thinking I need to recreate the "Intergalactic" video by the Beastie Boys in a Tokyo train station.

Also, the Xbox 36o store opened yesterday. So I'll be swarming that joint with the hordes of otaku.

I warn you now that there may be incoherent rants from internet cafes.
